Alumni Testimonials

There is no better way to learn about the Leadership Northeast experience than from our very own alumni. Please read the testimonials below to understand the real impact our programs can have.

The opportunities to engage with not only our community at different weekly programs, but also being able to network and make new friendships with fellow professionals, was an invaluable opportunity that wouldn’t be available without Leadership Wilkes-Barre.

–  Executive Class of ’19

Thank you for all your work to make this one of the most rewarding experiences for me, especially during the challenges I’ve faced in my personal life this past year. Little did I know when I applied for the program, I would gain a whole new family just when I would need it most.

–  Core Class of ’19

This program has been one of my favorite experiences thus far in my career. I have been exposed to so many ideas and resources that I was completely unaware were available to our school community. Last, but certainly not least, I have made friends that will last a lifetime.

–  Impact Class of ’19

I hope to be a fair, kind, magnanimous, and contagious leader. This program has been invaluable to my future in leadership. It has truly influenced my life in a multitude of ways and I am beyond grateful for its impact on my life.

–  JLWB Class of ’19

I am finishing up my 30th year working in the educational field, and never have I received more out of a program as I did with Impact.  Just when I thought I knew everything there is to being a great teacher, I found out I can learn even more! This program has helped me become not only a better teacher, but a better person.

Up to date we have met seven times throughout the school year, and all seven times, I left the session in awe! Never once did I get that, “get me out of here” feeling!  I would find myself checking my calendar on a number of occasions to see when the next session is being held.

We have covered a wide range of topics that included teamwork, social media, effective communication, state government (which included a meeting with the Secretary of Education), our Head Start program, dealing with gangs, conflict resolution, and our local culture.

This is truly the best program I have ever been involved in.  The staff at Leadership has been unbelievable!  They do a tremendous job preparing for each session.  Never once where we unorganized, confused, or frustrated about any part of this program.

I guarantee every faculty member who attends this program will leave a much better teacher!  I urge all of you to continue to support this program.  I urge all of you to attend a session of this program, and you will leave in awe, just like I do!

–  Impact Class of ’16

Leadership Wilkes-Barre without a doubt had a large contribution to the success I had in high school, which enabled me to get into the program and college I wanted as well as various scholarships such as this one. I am extremely thankful to have been part of such an influential program for not only 1 year but 2. Keep growing the program, I can personally say it truly does have a huge impact on those students who make the most of it.

– JLWB Class of ’17

“The IMPACT program has been a wonderful and enlightening experience.  I have been able to learn a great deal about the world of education.  Because of the IMPACT program, I now have a sound understanding of the various levels of decision making that go into the educational process.  I have always known my place in this process, but now, because of this program, I am more equipped to assist with meaningful and positive changes in the field of education at its various levels.  The IMPACT program has made me a more effective professional.  I am in a very positive place concerning my profession because of what I have learned.”

– Impact, Class of ’17

I just wanted to take a moment today to send a note of thanks!  I cannot begin to express how empowering this program was for my son! My mom had completed the Leadership Masters program quite a few years back and really encouraged [him] to apply, thinking it would be right up his alley!  We are all so glad he applied and was accepted!  As you may have noticed, he is quite introverted and at times unsure of himself.  He does however have a huge heart and always is mindful to make good choices!  Throughout this experience, he has made some wonderful friends, and has really developed a greater sense of self.  Once again, thank you for making a difference!  Our community is, without doubt, a better place to raise a family thanks to you and the work you do!
