About Leadership Northeast

The mission of Leadership Northeast is to develop informed and committed leaders from all segments of the community who will serve, strengthen and improve Northeastern Pennsylvania. Hundreds of people connect with LNE every year through our six Leadership programs, community impact project initiatives and active alumni network. There are multiple entry points into the organization offering varying degrees of opportunity to explore your potential, widen your sphere of influence, engage in authentic relationships with other leaders, and ultimately impact the quality of life in our region.

Leadership Northeast’s diverse portfolio of leadership development programs engage various levels of developing professionals, from high school juniors to senior executives (please click here to download a full history of LNE), Our leadership programs provide established and aspiring leaders with comprehensive leadership training and unparalleled access to key people and resources necessary for inspiring and producing positive regional change. Participants learn about the assets and challenges of Northeastern Pennsylvania as well as how they can contribute to its progress.

More than 3,000 participants have graduated from Leadership Northeast programs, and our alumni have been inspired to launch new nonprofit agencies, start businesses, and run for political offices. They serve on hundreds of boards and provide thousands of hours of volunteer service. LNE alumni are leaders who make a difference.

We are often asked, what exactly is Leadership Northeast? This is a complicated answer… To put it simply, for 37 years, we have offered transformative, intensive programs in personal and professional development, focusing on leadership skills, community awareness and networking. This private, nonprofit organization was developed by community leaders to strengthen and transform communities, and to ensure the progress of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

But the truth is, we are an opportunity. Leadership Northeast is an example of what can be accomplished when politics and personal agendas are set aside, and individuals come together motivated by positive reinforcement, funded by a sense of duty to give back and educated to realize their potential, to understand the need for and the impact of their contribution.

As an organization made up – not by bricks and mortar, or acreage, or even profit – but by the people who believe in its mission, we are a force for good in a time when so many confusing messages get in the way of progress.
